Materials used:
Wool/Twine 
Yellow/Orange Paper 
Pencil/Marker 
Crepe Paper 
Pom Poms 
Googly Eyes 
Paint if desired 
Pipe Cleaners 

Time plan: 

10 mins to set up 
5 mins to draw arm and hand 
10-15 to decorate
10 mins to tidy up 
40 mins in total

Space to draw around arm and hand 
General Aim of activity – What will the final outcome be? ie. ‘To make an aeroplane with cardboard’ box.
To make a girraffe using arm and hand 

Specific Learning outcomes of the activity – What will be learned by doing the activity? Ie. ‘To use fine motor skills using the scissors’ 
Using fine motor skills drawing around arm and hand and learning about animals and body awareness. 

Steps for making or doing activity:
Use images with short captions 

Step 1: Get a page and place your arm and hand on it   
Step 2: Separate each finger and place the fore finger and middle finger one side and index and little finger the other side.
Step 3: Using a pencil, trace around the arm and hand 
Step 4: Turn Picture upside down, the hand print will act as the girraffes legs and body while the arm acts as the neck   
Step 5: Decorate using materials desired
Step 6: Using green crepe paper under the legs of the girraffe, it created grass
Step 7: Stick pom poms/ wool onto the top of the picture to act as clouds 
Step 8: Stick googly eyes onto the girraffes face 
Step 9: Using old material (wool/twine)  decorate the girraffes neck
