Learning from Creative Art Peer Group Facilitation



Being able to work as part of a group is essential in most work situations. Having good interpersonal skills is especially important in the area of Social Care.
The peer group facilitation, in which students design and undertake a creative activity with their peers helps to build cooperative relationships built on common objectives.
The creative activity needs to be innovative and fun.

The student learns to;
  • Assessment of the participants needs and abilities 
  • Research and design an activity
  • Engage in delivery of an activity using instruction and facilitative styles
  • Be reflective in practice and about practice - engage with, evaluate and act upon new information as it arises and make adjustments, and develop future practice.
  • Plan and organise for the smooth delivery of the activity
  • Evaluate creative activities under a number of criteria
  • Facilitate of a group
  • Listen and engage with others to achieve a common goal 
  • Communicate effectively with others in varying situations
  • Develop confidence
