Plastic Bottle Ends as Flowers!

Plastic Bottle Ends as Flowers

Very Simple Idea:

Cut off the end of a bottle and cut 'petals' into it.

The cutting would be difficult for most children but the flowers could be prepared prior to working with them.
Building up a number of bottle end flowers together adds interest and colour.
The bottle ends can be painted with acrylic or/and tissue paper added to the centre.
I glued my flowers onto a blue painted background to give a water effect but it could be green scene also.

Variations:  Make floating flowers for water play, hanging the flowers from a tree and putting the flowers on sticks

Extending ideas: dialogue about types of flowers, Talk about springtime, if looking at a lily on the pond wonder with the children how the flower lives in water (what is happening under the water, where doe its food come from?), wonder about other types of flowers that float, and introduce  Stories about flowers,
