 Paper Outfit 

Creative Objectives:

  1. Experimentation with Techniques:
    • Objective: Encourage participants to explore various paper manipulation techniques, including twisting, cutting, tearing, folding, and more.
    • Activity: Participants will experiment with different methods of manipulating paper to create textures, patterns, and shapes for their outfits.

    • Activity: Participants will brainstorm and experiment with unique design elements, pushing the boundaries of traditional clothing concepts using paper.

 Paper Outfit Group Work Task

Paper is a cheap material and is available in many forms.

Because we see it all the time we forget its creative potential.
As art materials become expensive try and see paper as a valuable resource. Do more with less!

Using just paper, the group is asked to create an outfit.

Aim: To learn about paper using it in as many ways as possible;. Rip, fold, cut, stick etc to create an outfit. To see Paper as a resource

  • The group decides on the theme and creates it on a team member in a short period. Or are given a theme: empathy, advocacy, and inclusion. 

    This is a fun activity that helps a group to work together and make decisions. As the 'outfit' is not a permanent piece there is a freedom to be creative and take risks. The fun is in the process that is not challenging from an artistic perspective. 

    Think about other materials that could be used and adapted; plastic sheeting, carpet, or balloons, fabric, tin foil. Simplify paper-cutouts (jumper, shirt etc) onto a paper (2D) body on a wall.
