Existential tea:
By Robert Kelly (2016) Creative development transforming education through design thinking innovation and invention
Redesign the common teabag
Group members are challenged to create tea bag that will not drip when it is removed from water and transferred to the compost or garbage in. Everybody is familiar with this process yet knowing can be considered an expert. The design challenge is routine is very simple.
1. The design challenge is presented to the group and each group member is given time to generate their own lists of preliminary design solutions.
2. Preliminary solutions are then brought to an idea exchange where the goal is to grow as many idea alternatives as possible through plussing.
3. |After the idea exchange comment the whole group is divided into smaller working groups that now each have a large bank of ideas from which to draw for early prototyping.
4. After this point, groups go through recurrent rounds of divergence and convergence as time permits as they bring their concept into form.
