• Name of activity: Art, with coloured pasta.
• Aim of activity: Our aim was to include lots of different shapes and bright colours to make the activity appealing to the group.
•
• Image/s
• Materials used: To dye the pasta into different colours, we had to use a mixture of food colouring and white vinegar which were mixed together with the pasta inside a zip lock bag and then left out to dry overnight. We used spiral shaped pasta, shell pasta, bow shaped ones, rigatoni, spaghetti, penne and fusilli, this gave us a wide range of shapes to work with. For the activity we chose to use fluorescent coloured A3 sheets of card, and used PVA glue to stick the pasta on. We provided a choice of three separate pictures to recreate, a flower, a picture of a face made with pasta and a picture of the Irish flag as it was close to St. Patrick’s Day when we were facilitating the group.
• Instructions (you can use images here along with text)
• Outcomes
• Evaluation of activity from group: We felt that the class ran smoothly enough and for a first time facilitation we managed the group pretty well. We had one member of the group that would leave his seat and walk around but still managed to get him to interact for parts of the class.
• Costs: I spent around 12 euros on materials altogether.
